Details of short and full lymphoedema training courses for professional physiotherapist's, occupational therapists, nurses, massage therapists and naturopath's.
The full 3 day courses have been re-endorsed by Dr. Judith Casley-Smith in August 2010. They provide current hands on practical training with a component of pre reading essential 'need to know' theory. You learn the principles of the Lymphoedema Association of Australia (LAA) Complex Physical (Lymphatic) Therapy (C.P.T) - Casley-Smith Method for Lymphoedema Massage; Laser therapy used with lymphoedema, Compressive Bandaging and Measuring and fitting Compression Garments. Courses are run by the Poppy Lane Lymphoedema Clinic. A certificate of attendance and completion is awarded at the end of the course.
Full three day courses are suitable for allied health care professionals and remedial therapists when needing to know basic specific special techniques for laser, lymphoedema massage, bandaging and compression garments. A Certificate of course completion and attendance is awarded at the end of the course. Pre reading at post graduate level is sent out by mail prior to attendance.
The two day courses offered cover CPT lymphatic drainage massage only as used in the Casley-Smith method of CPT. A Certificate is awarded at the end of the course. This course is suited for professional post graduate studies where only the massage component of training is required.
